Thoughts for today 11/08/25

Alone

We are born alone.
We die alone.
And in between, we spend our lives trying to forget that.

We press our bodies together,
share our secrets in the dark,
spill words across tables,
hold hands in crowded streets—
but there is always a space
no one else can cross.

No one will ever know
exactly how it feels to be you.
Not your mother,
not your lover,
not your oldest friend.

We carry our own weather.
Our own shadows.
Our own silence.

And yet—
we keep reaching.
We keep building bridges
that never quite touch.
We keep calling into the night
hoping someone
will call back.

Maybe that’s the point.
Not to erase the distance,
but to love each other
across it.
